Description

The Tama TSM01 Sonic Mute is a set of two removable, reusable drum mute patches — a simple, effective solution for controlling unwanted overtones and excessive resonance on drum heads. Peel the mute from the mount sheet, place it anywhere on the drum head, and dial in exactly the right amount of dampening. When the adhesive loses its grip over time, simply rinse gently with water and reapply. No permanent modification to the drum head required.

Control Overtones Without Killing Your Sound

Every drum produces some degree of overtone — sympathetic resonance that can muddy your sound in a live or recording context. The Sonic Mute gives you precise, adjustable control over how much dampening you apply — place the patch closer to the edge for subtle dampening, or further toward the centre for a more pronounced effect. Unlike tape or foam wedges, the Sonic Mute is repositionable and leaves no residue on the drum head, making it a clean, non-destructive dampening solution.

Removable, Washable & Reusable

The TSM01's gel adhesive backing allows the mute to be peeled off and repositioned as needed — experiment with placement until you find the sweet spot for each drum. If the adhesive loses its grip after extended use, rinse the patch gently with water, allow it to dry, and it will regain its adhesion. A cost-effective, long-lasting dampening solution compared to disposable tape or single-use foam.
