These pots have a built in switch which is activated by pulling the knob up. It can be be used for pickup switching and wiring modifications like phase-switching, coil-tapping and series/parallel switching. Gotoh guitar pots are made in Japan to high quality standards. They are standard equipment in many quality Japanese made guitars. They make an excellent choice for a custom build or replacing the pots in an Asian-made guitar or bass.
