The Evans B14EC2S EC2S Frosted Tom Batter Drumhead is engineered for drummers who want a controlled, punchy tone with reduced overtones and a broad tuning range. Built from two plies of 7-mil film with a frosted finish, the EC2S features Evans' Sound Shaping Technology (SST) — an internal ring mounted beneath the head that manages edge vibration without eliminating it entirely.

Rather than choking the head, the SST ring isolates and damps higher overtones while preserving low-end warmth and enhancing attack. The result is a focused, punchy sound with a wider tuning range than a standard two-ply head. Evans' Level 360 collar ensures even seating across the full bearing edge for consistent tension and stable tuning.
