The Elixir 14087 Polyweb Nickel Plated Steel electric guitar strings deliver a warm, vintage-voiced tone with the extended tone life Elixir is renowned for. Super Light gauge (09-42) offers effortless playability and easy bending. Polyweb is Elixir's original coating — thicker than Nanoweb and Optiweb — producing a warmer, more subdued tone with a distinctly smooth feel under the fingers.

Polyweb vs Nanoweb vs Optiweb

Elixir offers three coating types, each with a different feel and tone character. Polyweb is the thickest coating, delivering the warmest, most mellow tone and the smoothest feel — ideal for players who prefer a vintage, darker sound or find uncoated strings too bright. Nanoweb is thinner, producing a brighter, more open tone closer to an uncoated string. Optiweb is the thinnest, designed to feel and sound as close to an uncoated string as possible. All three share Elixir's extended tone life advantage over uncoated strings.
