Polyweb is Elixir's original coating — thicker than Nanoweb and Optiweb — producing a warmer, more subdued tone with a distinctly smooth feel under the fingers.

Elixir offers three coating types, each with a different feel and tone character. Polyweb is the thickest coating, delivering the warmest, most mellow tone and the smoothest feel — ideal for players who prefer a vintage, darker sound or find uncoated strings too bright. Nanoweb is thinner, producing a brighter, more open tone closer to an uncoated string. Optiweb is the thinnest, designed to feel and sound as close to an uncoated string as possible.
