Description

The Cort CEC1 is a hybrid nylon-string classical-electric guitar designed for steel-string players who want the warm, expressive character of nylon strings in a familiar, comfortable package. With a slim SFX body, single cutaway, 45mm nut width, spruce top, and Cort CE304T electronics, the CEC1 makes the nylon-string world accessible to players of all backgrounds — without the steep learning curve of a traditional classical guitar.

Slim Body for Modern Comfort

The CEC1's slim SFX body (83x83mm depth) is significantly thinner than a traditional classical guitar body — making it comfortable to hold for players used to steel-string acoustics or electric guitars. The single cutaway provides easy access to the upper frets, while the 45mm nut width (narrower than the classical standard of 52mm) feels natural for players transitioning from steel-string instruments.

Spruce Top & Mahogany Back and Sides

The spruce top delivers clear articulation and a bright, open sound, while the mahogany back and sides add warmth and a strong midrange. Traditional fan bracing allows the top to resonate freely, producing the characteristic warmth and expressiveness of a classical instrument. The open pore finish enhances resonance and reduces weight for a more responsive, lively feel.

Cort CE304T Electronics

The Cort CE304T preamp with 3-band EQ and built-in LED chromatic tuner makes the CEC1 fully stage-ready. Plug into a PA or acoustic amp and the CE304T delivers a rich, clear signal with a warm midrange and transparent highs — faithfully representing the nylon-string tone when amplified.

Savarez Cristal Corum Strings

The CEC1 comes fitted with Savarez Cristal Corum 500CJ high-tension nylon strings — featuring polished silver-wound basses and Cristal trebles. High-tension strings provide a firmer, more responsive feel and a brighter, more projecting tone, making them ideal for players who prefer a more defined, articulate sound from their nylon strings.
