Allparts PC-0745-028 Cream Humbucker Pickup Ring Set — Non-Slanted, Flat Bottom
The Allparts PC-0745-028 is a cream humbucker pickup ring set with non-slanted (straight) sides and a flat bottom — designed for flat-top electric guitars where the pickup sits parallel to the body surface without angling. Includes one short neck ring and one tall bridge ring. Compatible with most standard humbucker pickups on flat-top guitar bodies.
Non-Slanted vs Slanted — Which Do You Need?
Pickup ring geometry is one of the most common sources of fitment confusion when replacing rings. The key distinction is whether the sides are slanted (tapered) or non-slanted (straight):
- Non-slanted (straight sides) — the ring height is uniform on all four sides; the pickup sits parallel to the body. Used on guitars where the pickup is mounted level with the body surface, or where the pickup height is adjusted via the pickup mounting screws alone. The PC-0745-028 is this type.
- Slanted (tapered sides) — one end of the ring is taller than the other, angling the pickup face toward the strings. Used on guitars where the ring itself provides the pickup angle. See PC-0743 (slanted, flat bottom) for this type.
Check your existing rings before ordering — if your current rings have uniform height on all sides, the PC-0745-028 is the correct replacement.
Flat Bottom — For Flat-Top Guitars
The flat bottom sits flush against a flat guitar top. Not suitable for Gibson carved-top guitars (Les Paul, ES-335), which require a ring with a radiused (curved) bottom to match the carved top contour.
