The Allparts EP-4928-023 is a TESI-brand 10mm momentary kill switch for electric guitar in black — a normally-open (NO) momentary pushbutton switch that cuts the guitar signal to ground when pressed, producing a complete signal kill for rhythmic stutter effects, killswitch techniques, and percussive muting. The 10mm body diameter fits a standard 10mm drill hole. Compact and easy to install in any available space on the guitar body or pickguard.

What a Kill Switch Does

A kill switch is wired in parallel with the guitar's output signal path — when pressed, it momentarily shorts the signal to ground, cutting the output completely. Releasing the button immediately restores the signal. This allows guitarists to create rapid, rhythmic on/off stutter effects, percussive muting patterns, and volume chops that are difficult or impossible to achieve with a standard volume control. The technique is associated with players like Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and Buckethead, who use kill switches to create machine-gun stutter effects and rhythmic gating.

Momentary Action — Signal Cuts Only While Pressed

The EP-4928-023 uses a momentary (non-latching) action — the switch is only active while the button is held down, and the signal returns immediately when released. This is the correct switch type for kill switch applications. A latching switch (which stays in position when pressed) would function as a permanent mute rather than a momentary kill.

10mm Body — Standard Drill Size

The 10mm body diameter fits a standard 10mm drill hole — a common size that can be drilled into most guitar bodies or pickguards without specialist tooling. The compact 10mm format allows installation in tight spaces where a larger switch would not fit.
