Allparts EP-0286-000 500K Push-Pull Audio Pot with DPDT Switch

The Allparts EP-0286-000 is a 500K audio taper potentiometer with an integrated push-pull DPDT switch — combining a standard volume or tone pot with a built-in switching function activated by pulling the knob upward. The push-pull mechanism toggles the switch when the knob is pulled up, and returns to the previous state when pushed back down. Includes nut and washer. Split shaft.

Push-Pull vs Push-Push — What's the Difference?

Both push-pull and push-push pots combine a standard potentiometer with an integrated DPDT switch, but they operate differently. A push-pull pot requires you to physically pull the knob upward to engage the switch and push it back down to disengage — the knob position (up or down) gives a clear visual indication of the switch state. A push-push pot uses a momentary press-and-release action to toggle the switch, with the knob staying at the same height regardless of switch state. Common Wiring Applications

The integrated DPDT switch can be wired for a wide range of switching functions without adding extra switches or modifying the guitar's appearance, including coil-splitting (splitting a humbucker to single-coil), series/parallel switching, phase reversal, pickup on/off switching, and active/passive switching on active electronics. The switching function is completely independent of the pot's volume or tone control function.
