The Allparts AP-6710 is a replacement string guide (string tree / string retainer) for electric bass guitars — maintaining correct string break angle over the nut for improved tuning stability and consistent string-to-nut contact. Includes mounting screw. Available in Black, Nickel, and Gold to match your bass hardware finish.

What a Bass String Guide Does

String guides are small fittings mounted on the headstock between the nut and tuning pegs — they apply downward pressure on the strings to ensure the strings seat correctly in the nut slots and maintain a consistent break angle. On bass guitars, this is particularly important on headstock designs where the string path from the nut to the tuning peg is relatively flat — insufficient break angle can cause strings to pop out of the nut slots during playing, leading to tuning instability, buzzing, or loss of sustain. A worn, bent, or missing string guide is a common and easily overlooked cause of tuning problems on Fender-style bass guitars.
