The Allparts AP-0680 is a Schaller-style strap lock system — a secure, pull-to-release locking mechanism that prevents your guitar strap from accidentally detaching during performance. Includes two locking strap buttons (to replace your existing strap buttons on the guitar) and two corresponding strap locks (which attach to the strap ends). Available in Chrome (AP-0680-010) and Gold (AP-0680-003). Made in the USA.

How Schaller-Style Strap Locks Work

Schaller-style strap locks use a two-part system: a locking strap button is screwed onto the guitar in place of the standard strap button, and a matching lock mechanism clips onto each end of the strap. When the strap is attached to the guitar, the lock clicks securely onto the strap button and cannot be pulled off accidentally — it can only be released by pulling back the release collar on the lock. This is a different mechanism from Dunlop-style strap locks, which use a washer-and-clip system. Schaller-style locks are not cross-compatible with Dunlop-style strap buttons or locks.

Pull-to-Release Mechanism

The AP-0680 uses a pull-to-release collar — to detach the strap, pull back the release collar on the lock and lift the strap away from the button. The lock cannot be released accidentally by normal playing movement, making it one of the most secure strap retention systems available.
